I was born and raised in Auroville, an international community in South India founded on the spiritual principles of human unity. I was introduced to massage, healing arts, Yoga, and other somatic practices at a young age by my mother and my surrounding community. By 5 years old my hands were already busily soothing people’s aches and pains, and by 19 I had taken my first training in Ayurvedic massage. In 2007, life guided me to Hawai’i where I graduated from the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage. Since then, I have built a full-time bodywork practice while teaching, learning and collaborating with therapists around the world.
I have training in various massage techniques including Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Sports, NMT, Lomilomi, Shiatsu, Ashiatsu and Thai massage, however foot-based bodywork continues to be my favorite modality. A repetitive-use injury, together with lots of creativity, a commitment to intelligent body mechanics, and a passion for Yoga and conscious movement, has guided me to explore the dynamic power of foot-based bodywork. From this inspiration I co-founded Sarga Bodywork™.
Along with bodywork, my interests lie in many other forms of body-centered and wellness practices that explore somatic awareness as a means to inspiring vital health through conscious movement, exercise, and self-care. Bodywork is not just my career, but also my meditation and my spiritual practice. I am continually grateful that I have the opportunity to share this work with all of you!
The body has infinite wisdom. There is nothing we need to learn, all we need to do is remember how to listen.
